What is the Information Disclosure System?
The Information Disclosure System is to disclose information which a public organization prepares or acquires for relevant duties and addresses an information requester who is a user and citizen in the form of reading, reproduction, or copies (disclosure by request) or discloses information by a public organization in the form of distribution or announcement of information, which a public organization keeps in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations, including by Acts or voluntarily (supply of information)
Type of Information Disclosure
- Disclosure by Request : a public organization discloses information which it prepared or acquired related to duties and manages when an individual requests information
(e.g. reading or requesting copies of government documents, etc.)
- Supply of Information : a public organization having information provides information voluntarily or mandatorily on the basis of the rules and regulations
(e.g. supply of information on internet, distribution of publications, etc.)
Persons with the right to request information
- Every citizen : Every citizen has the right to request information from a public organization by himself/herself or his/her agency
- Companies/Groups : Companies or groups have the right to request information from a public organization in the name of a representative of each company or group
- Foreigners : Foreigners who can request information are described below
- Foreigners residing in Korea with a permanent address
- Foreigners staying in Korea temporarily for researches or academic purposes
- Foreign companies or groups with offices in Korea
